Bob Ritter Robert B. Ritter, Jr.
President/CEO

Bob Ritter has been in life insurance sales and sales management for over four decades. He started with Mass Mutual in northern New Jersey and at age 26, he was appointed General Agent by Mass Mutual in Oakland, California -- the youngest General Agent ever appointed by that company. Three years later he took over a New York City agency for Mass Mutual where he was twice awarded the National Manpower Award, the company’s most prestigious award for the development of sales leaders.

In the early 1980s, Bob formed InsMark, a company dedicated to producing transferable marketing techniques for a wider group of producers. The success of InsMark has been phenomenal as 150+ companies have sponsored InsMark products utilized by over 30,000 producers. He guides his business career based on the following premise:

Bob is a life member of MDRT and was a qualifier for Top of the Table and International Forum until the growth of InsMark required all of his time. A dynamic and entertaining speaker, he has spoken at hundreds of industry seminars and conventions and was featured at the 1995, 1996, 2004, and 2008 MDRT annual meetings as well as the 2002 and 2004 annual meetings of the Top of the Table and 2003 and 2006 International Forum.

Bob is a past member of the MDRT Foundation’s Board of Directors as well as a member of the Split Dollar Sub-Task Force of the Association of Advanced Life Underwriters (AALU) during the lead-up to the Final Split Dollar Regulations issued in 2003. He is also the Founder and Past President of the Diablo Advocates, an organization dedicated to youth opportunities.

Bob graduated from The Lawrenceville School and from Williams College with a degree in Psychology. While at Williams, he also played lead cornet in the first college jazz band ever to play in Carnegie Hall. Called the Spring Street Stompers, this Dixieland jazz group won the Arthur Godfrey Talent Scout show on CBS (#1 in the ratings at the time), appeared on the Tonight show on NBC, and played frequently at the top jazz clubs in Boston and New York.

Bob and his wife, Laurel, live in Alamo, California. They have eight children and 20 grandchildren.

He earned a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from Wayne State College.

In 2009, David and software programmer Trent Policky began production on the BizNestEgg software system. A program designed to help brokers gain the confidence of wealthy business owners through the use of a valuable predictive business-modeling tool.

He started his financial career with Industrial Indemnity Insurance Company in 1985. He held positions of FINRA Broker / Dealer licensed securities representative and principal, Underwriter, Marketing Director, Captive Insurance Company Director, and COO National Accounts.

Prior to launching Westface Financial, Mark was the CEO of the innovative online financial services marketing firm InsWeb (NASDAQ INSW). InsWeb is a popular online service for consumers to find companies and agents that can meet their insurance needs.

Mark is a licensed Series 6 and 65 investment representative, and a licensed IAR (Investment Advisor Representative). He is also a licensed Life/Health (including variable products) and P&C insurance broker.

Mark has a Bachelor of Science in Finance from California State University - Chico, and a Masters in Management from Boston University - Vrije Universiteit Brussels, Belgium.

Mark is an active member of Rotary International and the Truckee Rotary Club which supports local charities.

Ashton received his BFA degree from California Institute of the Arts in 1986.

After collage Ashton spent ten years as Director of Marketing of Successful Money Management Seminars where he helped 7,500 financial professionals put the art and power of seminar marketing into practice.

From there, Ashton has had a stream of successful business ventures including "High Impact Marketing" where he taught marketing through a variety of special training events including to a Financial Planners Council held at Berkley where he was voted as teaching the most noteworthy and useful class, Effective Marketing Tactics for Financial Professionals.

During this time Ashton had to scratch his artistic bug so he returned to film, where he wrote and directed the feature, "Durango Kids" which was picked up and widely distributed by Lion's Gate Films. Ashton won "Best Director" in a variety of film festivals through the states while promoting the film.

"I loved the technology behind film production and special effects. I am also a fan of Internet film distribution and advertising so I delved into it with gusto." Ashton saw disjointed, non-integrated software applications that people needed but actually made their jobs harder and more complicated. Seeing the open door, Ashton started a software company to develop and then sell integrated software functions built on a solid business strategy.

He currently holds his Life & Health insurance license along with his FINRA Series 7, 66, and 24 licenses and is currently working on his CLU designation. Erik is a member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals (Twin Cities Chapter). He attended the University of Minnesota and Augsburg College earning his B.A. degree in Mass Communication. While in college he played hockey on both the University of Minnesota and Augsburg College men’s hockey teams. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife Cathy, and also enjoys music, hockey, golf, and tennis.
