InsUser.Dat File Question: You e-mailed me an InsUser.Dat file and I'm not sure what to do with it.  Help!
Response: Save the file to c:\insmark\usrdata\ (if you installed to a different directory just replace the "c:" with your different location).   The file will already exist, so if you are prompted to overwrite or replace the existing file, answer yes.
Licensed User?

Question: What do I enter for the License User's name?
Response: The licensed user is the agent who is licensed to use the system.  This is also the name that appears on all of the reports printed from the system.  If you are running or installing the system for an agent, enter the agent's name, not yours.

Expired System Question: My system expired, what do I do?
Response: If you are unable to run your InsMark System(s) and it indicates that your System(s) has expired, download and run this critical update to correct the problem. If after running this utility you still have a problem, it may be from your firewall. If you need help with a firewall issue, call our customer service department at 925-543-0507 for help.
Moving Systems to a New Computer
Question: I have a new computer.  How can I get all of the information from my old computer to my new one?
Res
ponseIn order to move your InsMark Products to a Different Computer, follow these steps:
Step 1. Deactivate your InsMark Systems first :
From the Main Menu bar, select Tools then Deactivate Products. This will increment your number of installations available, allowing you to install on a new computer.

Step 2. Move your Systems to your new computer :
Be sure you have Deactivated your Systems first in Step 1. Next, locate your InsMark directory on your old computer. If you installed to the default location, your directory is under the root: C:\InsMark. Right click on the InsMark folder and select Properties to check the space needed for this folder. If you do not have a storage drive large enough, you can copy the folders under the InsMark folder individually.
Copy the entire InsMark folder to your new computer in the same location as it was on your old computer. If you installed to the default location, you will copy it to your C:\ drive.

Step 3. Move the configuration file to your new computer :
Locate your Windows folder, usually this is located under the root: c:\Windows. In the Windows folder, locate the file, InsMark.ini, Copy this file to the Windows folder on your new computer.
Step 4. Activate your Systems on your new computer :
Your files are in place, now you need to activate them. To do so, run the InsMark Installation Utility from our website: www.insmark.com/TechnicalSupport. If any of your products are not current, be sure to update them. However if your Systems are current, proceed without selecting any Systems. Your Systems will be activated regardless if you select anything on the Installation menu.
ION Question:  I installed the Setup program for ION, however when I click on my unique link I am not getting into the website.
Response: This occurs when you install ION on a computer that does not have any previous InsMark systems installed on it.  To install ION on a different computer, install your InsMark Start-Up disk onto the computer first, then re-run the ION setup program.
ION

Question: I installed the Setup program for ION, however when I launch the HELP System, the links aren't active.
Response: Try downloading and re-installing the Setup program.   There was a bug in the first HELP system that has been corrected.

Ask Bob Question: What is "Ask Bob"?.
Res
ponse: Ask Bob is a new forum exclusively available to Power Producers.   In the Ask Bob forum, Power Producers can ask the CEO and founder of InsMark questions.  All of the questions are posted to the forum so that all Power Producers can benefit from the questions previously asked and answered.
DOD

Question: I received a Product Suite CD in the mail.  When I tried to install DOD, I was unable to select it.
Res
ponse: This is usually from an old data file from a previous install.  Try running the InsMark Installation Utility.

Backup of Database

Question:   I want to back-up my system's database.   How do I do that?
Res
ponseThere are two ways to save database information to disk:

1.  The easiest way is to export your Workbooks to disk.  Choose Export Workbook from the Client Workbook main menu selection and follow the 3 steps in the on-screen instructions.

2.   The second way to back-up your database is to copy the database subdirectory to a disk.  All InsMark systems are installed to a similar directory structure.  They are installed by product, then by version.  If you installed your system(s) to the default location of C:\InsMark, then your products would be located under that directory.  IIS version 13 would be installed in the C:\InsMark\IIS\13.0 directory.

To back-up a product's database, copy the DB directory located under the specific product you are using (i.e. C:\InsMark\IIS\13.0\DB) to a disk or CD.

Product Suite CD

Question: Do I need to keep all of the old Product Suite CDs that I have?
Response: No!  We recommend that you discard all old disks since the content is outdated.   Since our products are updated regularly, we now keep the most current versions of our products on the internet. We made it even easier for you by eliminating the need for you to go to our website and download each update.  Instead, just use the InsMark Installation Utility.  It will do the work for you and thus ensure that you always have the most current version of our Systems.  So, if you have access to the internet, you really do not need to keep your Product Suite CD.   However if you prefer to keep one, be sure to keep the CD with the most current date on it (look for the date under the words "Product Suite" on the CD).

Registry Password

Question: I want to login to Registry but I never received a password that I can think of. How do I get a Password?
R
esponse: If you have never logged into the Registry website before, you need to click on the link, "If you have never logged in before, click here".  Then, simply answer the questions on the screen to set-up your Registry login and create a password.
